10 Songs That Changed My Life

I was reading a People Magazine the other day, and saw a little section with this title. I can't even remember who was featured in the article, but I started wondering... What 10 songs changed MY life?

"Return to Innocence" by Enigma-- I know what you're thinking... What the heck?! How life-changing is this song? Well, I simply had to put it on the list because it was the first cd I ever bought. It marked the beginning of a beautiful relationship between music and myself.

"Tootsie Roll" by the 69 Boyz-- Another odd choice! Well, this song marks my preteen years, where we did a finely sculpted routine at the local skate rink.

"Friends and Family" by Trik Turner-- Jump from preteen to high school. I will never forget the day I heard this song. I was in a ski shop in Whistler, Canada.

"Collide" by Howie Day-- College days... I first heard this song in Arizona. I was in a beautifully disastrous relationship that was quickly coming to an end. This song always takes me back there and helped me remember how much I've grown since then.

"The Red" by Chevelle-- Chevelle is one of my favorite bands of all time. This is the first song of theirs that was popular. Thank you, radio, for introducing me to this band!

"Fix You" by ColdPlay-- This song doesn't necessarily have a specific part of my life. It just reminds me of a time when I needed to be "fixed." Man, I've come so far. :)

"Mourning" by Tantric-- I wish I could remember the exact day and time that I first heard this song. It is incredible... One of my favorite songs of all time. The only other person I know that loves Tantric as much as me is Matt's brother, Brent.

"Say Hello Wave Goodbye" by David Gray-- This is the song I listened to when I was really upset with Matt. It's a great coping song if you ask me. In fact, I sang all 8 minutes of it at the British Rose karaoke last St. Patty's. Wow.

"Look After You" by the Fray-- I just really LOVE this song. As many times as I hear it, I never get tired of it.

"Miracle" by the Foo Fighters-- Save the best for last. This is mine and Matt's "song." It reminds me of how truly blessed I am.
