MRS.

SO much has happened since my last post. I am walking a little taller, I have an awesome tan, AND my last name has changed. I am MARRIED!
It has been such a whirlwind. Yes, we decided to get married quickly (after 4 years, why wait?!), so I knew it would fly by, but I had NO idea just how fast the 5 months would pass. One day, we are moving in to a new house and getting engaged, and the next day I am standing at the altar with the man I love. It's a CRAZY feeling.

Our wedding was absolutely beautiful... It was everything I imagined it would be and then some. Our honeymoon was phenomenal. I wish we could move to Curacao... Or at least stay longer than a week. It was a beautiful and relaxing place, and we even came back home with 4 new friends. :)

It was perfect. Everything was perfect. I feel so blessed.
I will post pics soon!

SCHOOL!!!

Tomorrow marks the first day of my second year of teaching! Wow... I can't believe it has been one year since my life as an educator began. On one hand, it FLEW by! And on the other, it seems like years since I started this journey.

As I embark on year two, I can't help but think about my kiddos from last year and all that they brought into my life. I will miss them dearly.

Memory number 1: "Dude, she's not THAT hot." One boy speaking to another about me as they walked past my room. Gee, thanks.
Memory number 2: I told a girl, "I bought those shoes for my mom for Mother's Day." Poor girl never wore them again. Haha.
Memory number 3: When I asked a boy why the football players quit rushing to my room to ask me to wear their jerseys on game day, he replied, "That was before we found out how mean you were."
Memory number4: TC. A kid who always kept me on my toes. I will miss that teddy bear.
Memory number 5: Field day-- I looooved seeing my kids in a different element. Plus, they didn't mind knocking me in the water in the dunking booth.
Memory number 6: The Monday after I got engaged. They clapped for me, then when I told them the story, they said "You were wearing your Frank Seale tshirt?! Eww!" Gotta love the honesty.
Memory number 7: I let the girls in my 5th period class fix my hair. I had an awkward 80's side pony-tail.

Man, there are many many more, but I guess I'll stop there. I'll give a full report after my day tomorrow. Can't wait to meet all of the new characters! Should be a heck of an adventure!

On a side note, 3 of my little cousins and my friend Lisa's little boy are all starting kindergarten tomorrow. Please pray for their parents as they make the scary transition. :)

Weekend Fun!

We had a fab weekend!! My bridesmaids threw us our second shower and it was so much fun. It was at this cute little cupcake place in town called Gimme Sugar. They had these ham and cheese sandwiches that were to die for. Seriously. De-Lish.
Thursday night, my cousin Sarah came in. Then, Friday my bffs Lauren and Angie came to spend the night. It was so nice to just relax with my girlfriends and it didn't hurt that Angie played with my hair for the wedding. It's going to look so good! My parents also came to town. I couldn't ask for more.
After my shower Saturday, Angie went home to find her boyfriend on bended knee. Yep, she is ENGAGED! Yay! Congrats to her. She deserves the world.

Anyway, as always, I will post pics soon! They are on my facebook, but I am at work today and can't access them. Boo!! I am in meetings ALL day for kids that didn't pass the 3rd round of TAKS. No bueno.
Have a great week everyone!

Time Flies!!

WOW. It has been a while since my last post... Just about a month. That should be a strong indication of how busy I have been lately! So much to catch up on.

1. I wrapped up Summer school. I am not sure if I will teach it again next year. It was exhausting! But once my paycheck comes in, I may have a different opinion.
2. I took my 8-12 mathematics certification test (it was so hard- I fould myself in tears 3 different times) AND I PASSED it! Phew! One less thing to worry about.
3. My mom came in to town at the beginning of July and has been here since!
4. My dress also came in. It is BEAUTIFUL. :)
5. We got back our first-time homebuyers tax credit. Hallelujah!
6. We met with our wedding planners (ie Matt's mom and her friends) and everything is in order for our big day. We have a few loose ends to tie up, but other than that, we are good to go! I guess we really are getting married!
7. Our invitations are going out tomorrow. Wowsers.
8. We had our first shower at my grandma's church in tiny Tool, Texas. Her friends really out-did themselves and gave us a wonderful shower. We got our Keurig!!! It is EVERYTHING it's cracked up to be. Seriously.

Hmm... I guess that's about it. Needless to say, we have not slowed down since summer hit.
Tomorrow morning (bright and early if my grandma has anything to do with it), we are leaving for Ruidoso, New Mexico. My grandparents bought a cabin out there last year. I am SO looking forward to 70 degree temps and some R&R with my family. It is MUCH needed.

On a sidenote, Saturday is the anniversary of my Uncle Bruce's death. It's hard to believe he's been gone for a year. It seems like yesterday... Please keep my family, especially my dad and my cousins Sarah and Emilee in your prayers. It will be a hard day for everyone.

Much love.
